This automatic pouch unscrambler (sometimes incorrectly referred to as a doypack pouch sorting machine) is designed for organizing disordered stand-up pouches to satisfy the feeding requirements of the collator for doypack case packing. It collects spouted pouches from the upstream packaging line, arranges them into a single file, spaces out consecutive pouches, orients all pouch heads consistently with the help of a vision system, and turns them face-up when required.

 

For products like puree that need to be pasteurized after being packaged in stand-up pouches, this unscrambler is an ideal upstream unit for the case packer. The pouches normally come out of the post-pasteurization dryer in a disordered state, but they need to be fed in a single file and with the heads in the same orientation to the collator of the case packing system. With the unscrambler, the whole packaging line can be fully automatic.
